Pat and her Goldendoodle, Colleen, age six, live in Niles, Illinois. Pat was understandably miserable after having just euthanized her 13-year-old dog. Her family thought a new dog would be the only cure. Meanwhile, one-year-old Colleen (formerly “Mia”) was found tied outside a shelter in the rain. She had been at the shelter one week when she and Pat met. Pat considers Colleen a “gift from God,” as this sweet, gentle, friendly girl came into her life just when needed. Pat and Colleen have a busy schedule, visiting at Midwest Palliative Hospice Care Center in Glenview, IL; Presbyterian Homes in Evanston, IL; and soon beginning at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. They also participate in a Fear Class at Morton Grove’s Rainbow Therapy Group and have done a few programs at Kohl’s Children’s Museum in Glenview. We are grateful for all that Pat and Colleen do!
