Gypsy and I had the MOST amazing visit at Central Wisconsin Center.
A little girl with cerebral palsy was in for evaluation and had not responded to anything all week. When they brought her to meet Gypsy and asked if she wanted to pet the dog, she made a face and shook her head no; but the therapist wisely waited. Within 2 minutes she was smiling and laughing and petting Gypsy with her hands, which were fisted due to CP, and reaching out to her.
Gypsy took it all in stride with her usual calm incredible perception. This was the first time the little girl had responded to anything with a smile.
This is why we do what we do.
