Karen has two Pet Partners. Shaka (pictured alone), a ten-year-old Akita mix, is a rescue from North Carolina. Zombie, a nine-year-old Dutch Shepherd, was from a breeder and “too nice to be a police dog.” Both dogs are familiar sights at many DOC activities, including dog safety events, UW dorm visits, visits to Meriter, the VA Hospital, UW Hospital, and participating in the Read With Me. program at the Fitchburg Library.
